The Recombination Luminescence of Tryptophan in Aqueous Glasses, I Quenching Effect of Electron Scavengers
نویسنده
چکیده
The quenching effect of Se(>4— and NO3(scavenger for trapped electrons) on the delayed luminescence ('recombination luminescence') caused by the recombination of trapped electrons with mother tryptophan cations was investigated in aqueous 9 M NaOH and 9.5 M LiCI glasses at 77 K . The results show that the trapped electrons responsible for the recombination fluorescence were deep-trapped ones in 9 M NaOH glasses and shallowand deep-trapped ones in 9.5 M LiCI glasses. However, trapped electrons participating in the recombination phosphorescence were almost shallow-trapped ones in the two glasses. The distribution of the trapped electrons is discussed.

متن کاملLuminescence Enhancement in Eu(III)-Doped Tellurite Glass Embedded Silver Nanoparticles
Introduction of the metallic nanoparticles (NPs) in the bulk glass received a large interest due to their versatile applications. The effect of silver NPs on optical properties of the Eu3+-doped zinc tellurite glasses is presented for the first time. Glass samples are prepared by melt-quenching technique. The surface plasmon absorption bands of silver NPs are recorded in the visible ...
متن کاملFabrication and Structural Characterization of Se-Ge Chalcogenide Glasses by Means of Melt Quenching Technique
The structural and optical characterization of Se-Ge alloys during melt quenching technique was the goal of this study. In this regards, five different samples of Se100-xGex (x= 10, 20, 30, 40, 50) were prepared by conventional melt quenching in quartz ampoule. The produced samples were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), differential scanning calori...

In this work, the structural properties and spectroscopic behavior 80 mol.%TeO2-20mol.%LiF glasses which were doped with 0. 05, 0. 2 mole% Gd2O3 have been studied. It was shown that, by increasing the amount of Gd2O3 the glass stability was decreased. The PL emissions at 431nm and 627nm wavelengths were distinguished by 320nm excitation. The FT-IR analysis showed deformed TeO4 groups in these ...
